Let’s have a look at the 2018 Kia Stinger AWD or RWD sedan (release date, spy pictures, etc.)

Kia have made a habit of turning concept cars into production models, and it looks as though they are doing the same with the GT concept that they showed off in Frankfurt several years ago.

While certainly different from the concept, you can definitely see the inspiration in the spy shots taken of the new Stinger sports sedan model.

It’s not sure whether or not Kia will use the Stinger name for the upcoming 2018 sports sedan, which they recently trademarked, and for now the new model is going under the CK development label.

Kia Stinger spy shots

The latest Kia spy shots show a sports sedan still heavily under the wraps of camouflage, but there is no mistaking the distinctive exterior design that was shown off when the concept was unveiled.

This definitely looks like a vehicle that would make a major splash in the US sports sedan market, so it’s no real surprise that it is rumored to be heading that way as a 2018 model year.

While the finished design of the Kia GT sedan is obviously finalized, there are still some details that we are left guessing about.

The belief is that the upcoming 2018 Kia Stinger will share the same platform as the upcoming Genesis G70, and that it will be powered by a V6 engine mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.

There is also talk that a 4-cylinder option and a hybrid model will also be brought to market.

Price of Kia Stinger 2018

We have no idea of the Kia Stinger pricing as of yet, but given Kia’s track record, look for their sports sedan to seriously undercut the likes of the Audi A5 and BMW 4-Series.

2018 Kia Stinger release date

The 2018 Kia Stinger (or whatever it’ll be called) could be unveiled in Europe before the end of the year, but expect to see it for the very first time in the US at the 2017 Detroit Motor Show.
